Pounce Curving: Absolutely a must for succeeding in making damage pounces. This is a hunter "tech", as I'll call them, that causes you to curve/aim your pounce, mid air. Here's how we do it:

  • Do a normal pounce. Preferably up high, as it won't do much if this is a close range pounce. Use whatever method of damage pouncing you like for this.
  • While mid-air, let go of crouch. Holding onto crouch slows you down, even mid-air, just as it would if you were a survivor running around.
  • After letting go of crouch, simply aim on your target with the reticle (or crosshair) and strafe to the sides using your A and D keys (or your default left and right keys)
  • Believe it or not, this actually causes you to curve in that direction. I'm not positive if holding W (or up) causes you to go further, but I do it anyways. Better safe than sorry. And as I mentioned earlier, pressing S (or down) causes you just to drop.
  • If you can master this technique, you can do some really beautiful and well made pounces. You can pounce and curve around fire escapes, or corners. The sky's the limit.

Wall Jumping: This is where I've seen some people having problems. Surprisingly enough, many people don't even know this is possible. Well, don't feel bad if you didn't, I'm here to help you out. Incase the title didn't already give it away, here's a small look at what you'll be learning here. Basically you will be pouncing wall to wall all over the map, being hard to shoot, and look really awesome. This also sets you up for pouncing up to high buildings, and opens up a variety of new hunter techs to the hunter game. Here's how it works:

  • Pounce into a wall (which is a bit of a given).
  • Hold onto the W key, and when your hunter hits the wall, look away from it, at another wall, and quickly click at it. If done properly, you'll pounce off the one wall, and over to the second.
  • This may need some practice before getting comfortable with it. Check the list of console commands that you'll want to know to practice pouncing in Single Player.
  • You don't have to hold crouch to pounce off of walls, but you should always have it handy incase you fall off and land on something. Nobody wants to have to charge up for another second and get melee spammed to death.
  • When you pounce off of a wall from a damage pounce, it resets the distance counter. So if you pounce from a building across the map, and wall pounce your way into Francis' heart (literally), you will only get the damage points for the last jump you made, to Francis.
  • That doesn't have to be a bad thing. Setting up at a high building, then pouncing up to another and walljumping off will end up giving you more damage than you would've had.

And there you have it. Feel free to get complicated with it, once you think you're good enough.
